The Rev. Dr. Jamison J. Hardy
Jamison Hardy was born on October 1, 1973, to Daniel and Cathryn (Sides) in Bay City, MI. His family moved to Flint, MI and then later to Westland, MI. He attended St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church and School in Westland. It was there he met Pastor Ralph Fisher, who told the young Jamison that he would one day enter the ministry. Pastor Fisher ministered to Jamison throughout his life.
Jamison attended Lutheran High School in Westland, where he was actively involved in sports. Following high school, Jamison continued his Lutheran education at Concordia University in Mequon, WI. At CUW, he pursued a degree in Secondary Education-Broad Field Social Sciences while continuing to excel at wrestling as a state and national finalist. Upon graduating, Jamison enrolled at Concordia Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN. Throughout his time at the seminary, he had many and varied experiences including field work at New Life Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne, IN, and a short-term mission trip to Venezuela.
While preaching at his baptized church as part of a fund-raising effort for a mission trip to Venezuela, he met a young college graduate, Wendy Klemm. The two wrote letters and called each other frequently over the next several months. In April, 1997, he was assigned his vicarage placement at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church and South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD. Prior to his departure to the great west, he asked Wendy to marry him. On August, 1, 1998 they were married. They have been blessed with three children: Noah, Nathaniel and Naomi.
Upon completion of his vicarage, Jamison completed his final year of seminary training and received his first church assignment to Our Savior Lutheran Church in Mt. Lebanon, PA. He was ordained on December 10, 2000 at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Westland. In 2003, Pastor Hardy began his work with Concordia Lutheran Ministries by sitting on the board of directors, both on the parent board, and chairing the Personnel and Missions and Ministries committees. It was with CLM that he traveled to Kenya, Sudan and South Africa more than 20 times, coordinating and supervising projects that benefitted the orphans, along with other people in African Nations.
In 2007-2008, Our Savior Lutheran Church in Mt. Lebanon, PA and Hope Lutheran Church in McMurray, PA merged into Peace Lutheran Church, meeting at the McMurray location with Pastor Hardy as the pastor of the merged congregation. After teaching as an adjunct at Community College of Allegheny County, Pastor Hardy began his graduate studies in 2009 in the Masters in Public Policy. He then continued with his doctorate in Business Administration from Walden University in Baltimore, finishing his DBA in 2012.
