Open Arms Lutheran Child Development Center

Welcome to Open Arms…

Our greatest gift is to be able to share the love we have received from Christ Jesus with the children in our care. We view our role here at Open Arms as a sacred trust given to us by the families we serve. We value each child as a unique and special child of God – full of curiosity, love and untapped potential.

Choosing a childcare facility is one of the hardest decisions a parent has to face. Open Arms provides a warm, peaceful, environment with Christian values and a well-rounded faith-based curriculum that nurtures self-esteem, emotional security and independence. We consider it an honor to partner with you in spiritual, social, emotional, physical and academic development of your child.

We know the importance and value of meeting in person with those individuals who will care for your precious children. We schedule tours from 9:30AM to 11:30AM, Monday through Friday, giving you the opportunity to meet and talk to the teachers and view the classrooms in action. Please call ahead to schedule your appointment.

We look forward to meeting you and introducing your family to our family at Open Arms.

Philosophy Statement

As a national accreditated school, it is our Philosophy to…

  • Value each child as a unique and special child of God  because Jesus Christ died and rose for all children.
  • Nurture individuality and diversity.
  • Instill respect for themselves, others and the world around them.
  • Promote life-long learning, creativity and Christian values.

Scripture references

  • Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6
  • And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me. Matthew 18:5
  • Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Ephesians 5:21

One in Christ Curriculum:

One in Christ is a Christ-centered curriculum developed based on the work of experts in the child development area.  These experts include Vygotsky, Erikson, Piaget, Kohlberg, Maslow, Gardner and Bronfenbrenner.  This curriculum gives the children the opportunity to explore God's world while developing skills in math and science, language development and listening skills, and creative artistic development.  Even snack is incorporated as a fun learning tool to help with a child's developmental process.  We look forward to watching your child learn and grow through this program.

We also incorporate the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS) into our learning progrm.  These standards promote a quality learning experience for children and address the question "What should children from birth to age five know and be able to do?"
