Reformation History Travel Opportunities

The following is a sampling of tours to places of significance in the history of the Reformation. More will be added as information becomes available.

May 1-11, 2017 In the Steps of Martin Luther, with Salzburg, “the City of Music” led by Rev. Dr. Don Fondow, President of the Minnesota North District, Rev. Randall L. Golter, Special Assistant in the Office of the President of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) and chair of the LCMS Reformation 500 commemoration, and Rev. May 21-June 2, 2017 Luther Reformation and Germany Tour *, hosted by Pr Mike Weider of Memorial Lutheran Church, Katy, TX (a Texas District congregation). This tour features visits to many of the Luther/Reformation sites, along with tours of Berlin, Munich, the Bavarian Alps, Salzburg and a Rhine River cruise. June 4-15, 2017 Luther/Bach Reformation Tour led by Pr. Bryan Wolfmueller, Pastor of Hope Lutheran Church, Aurora, CO and author of Has American Christianity Failed? (CPH 2016). CLICK HERE for details.

June 13-22, 2017 Luther Tour led by Arthur and Linda Just will include traditional Luther sites -- Eisenach, Wartburg, Wittenberg, Erfurt -- in addition to the University cities that contributed to the Reformation -- Gottingen, Halle, and, of course, Wittenberg. The tour will parallel the alumni tour of the Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne and Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis choirs and includes three of their concerts in Einbeck, Halle, and Wittenberg to hear Reformation music in Reformation churches. June 19-25, 2017 Reformation 500 Tour sponsored by Hales Corners Lutheran Church, Hales Corners, WI, the host congregation of the June 2016 English District Church Worker Conference. July 10-21, 2017 July 2017 Luther Tour led by Rev. Dr. David Bueltmann, retired District President of the Central Illinois District. Accompanying Rev. Bueltmann will be Bishop Emeritus and Mrs. David Stechholz and Pastor and Mrs. Jonathan Sachs. Rev. Bueltmann conducts several Luther tours each year. CLICK HERE for details.

October 28-November 4, 2017 Luther Sites, the Easy Way sponsored jointly by Peace Lutheran Church, O'Fallon, MO, Chapel of the Cross Lutheran Church, St. Louis, MO, and Redeemer Lutheran Church, Lincoln, NE, all English District congregations. This tour will be led by Pastors Robert Roegner, Michael Brown and Ted Laesch, as well as Mr. Ryan Meyer, Director of Music at Chapel of the Cross, and Mr. Rod Pelander. Tour participants will experience Wittenberg, Germany on the Reformation 500 Jubilee Day itself, October 31, 2017! November 11-21, 2017 Lands of Luther and Eastern Europe, Celebrating the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation. Hosted by Concordia Theological Seminary - Fort Wayne, the tour will include stops in Berlin, Wittenberg, Eisleben, Leipzig, Eisenach, Erfurt, Prague, Augsburg and Munich.
